Week 7

  • Read for ten minutes every night.
  • Make families of facts for these equations- 5+7, 9+7, 11+8, 9+8
  • Use these words in sentences: meat, meet, oar, or, sew, so, maid, made.




Week 6

  • Read for ten minutes each night.
  • Use these words in sentences: morning, middle, another, heard, bought, brought, something.
  • Help Mum or Dad with dinner one night, and write down what you have made, and why you liked what you made..
  • Count how many rooms you have in your house and write down what they are.



Week 5

  • Read for ten minutes every night.
  • Write a letter or an email to your grandparents inviting them to the Grandparents Mass on Friday morning.
  • Write out the 2x, 3x and 5x tables- you may get your Mum or Dad to help you with this.
  • Do at least three jobs around your home this week and write down what you have done and how you did it..



Week 4

  • Read for ten minutes each night , record what you have read each night and choose one book to write a review on
  • Use these words in sentences: weight, wait, hair, hear, air, ear
  • Write as many addition and subtraction equations as you can that equal these numbers: 25, 22, 20, 19


Week 3

  • Read for ten minutes each night. Go to the Public Library and get books that Mum or Dad can read to you.
  • You are to help cook dinner at least two nights this week and then write down all the ingredients and how you made whatever you made for dinner.
  • Write out the 10x table.
  • Watch the news two nights this week and write down one thing that has happened in NZ those days.



Week 2

  • Read for ten minutes each night. Get Mum or Dad to read to you as well.

  • Use these words in sentences: maid, made. wear, where, quite, quiet,way, weigh
  • Write out the 2x and 5x tables
  • Do some jobs around the house and write down what you have done to help Mum and Dad



Week 1 Term 4

  • Read for ten minutes each night and record what you are reading in your homework book.
  • Use these words in sentences- some, again, other, would, wood, over, only, home, house.
  • Make up as many equations that equal 18, 19, 20 using addition or subtraction equations.
  • Help Mum or Dad cook dinner one night and write down what you had to do to make the dinner.



Week 8

  • Please learn your poem this week, ready to say it to the class
  • Read for ten minutes each night



Week 7

  • Read for ten minutes each night, record what you have read and write down why you enjoyed that particular story
  • Get your mum or dad to read to you every night when you go to bed.
  • Help Mum or Dad to cook dinner at least two nights this week and write down what you have cooked and what you had to put in the recipes that you used.
  • Write down as many facts that equal 19, 21, 23, using addition and subtraction equations.





Week 6

  • Use these words in sentences: school, took, time, house, first, could their, there
  • Read for ten minutes each night and record something about what you have read..
  • Write down as many addition and subtraction equations that equal: 14, 19, 15
  • Go to the Public Library and get some books to share with your family



Week 5

  • Use these words in sentences:- first would, wood, around, people, something, only
  • Read for ten minutes each night and record what you have read.
  • write down as many addition and subtraction equations that equal - 20, 18, 17
  • Make a list of your three favourite foods and ask Mum or Dad how to make these foods.


Week 3

  • Read for ten minutes every night- go to the Public Library and choose some books that the whole family can read together.

  • Use these words in sentences: some wear where hear, hair air ear because

  • Go onto Tutpup and challenge yourself in addition and subtraction equations

  • Help Mum or Dad prepare at least one meal this week, and record what you made and how you made it- maybe you would like to do some baking this week as well..

 

 

Week 2

  • Read for ten minutes each night and record what you have read in your homework book.
  • Find as many ways as possible to make these numbers (using addition and subtractions equations) 15, 18, 20 
  • Use these words in sentences: one, won, with, because, after, about, down,again, next people.
  • Think about an invention that you use all the time at home and why it was invented...what would your life be like without that invention.



Week 1 Term 3

  • Read for ten minutes each night. Record what you have read each night.
  • Help Mum or Dad with preparing and cooking dinner for at least two nights, write down what you have cooked, and ingredients you needed.
  • Go onto Tutupup and do some addition and subtraction equations. 
  • Talk to Mum and Dad about Enterprise- and what your would like to dream about and then make it happen. Remember the choices for this term are: Creating a book, becoming an artist, making your own fishing flies, making and recording music, becoming a Masterchef...


Week 10

  • Read for ten minutes each night.
  • This week I would like you to do the same as last week and help your Mum and Dad with the preparing and cooking your dinner.



Week 9

  • Read for ten minutes each night with your Mum or dad, write down in your homework book what you have read each night.

  • Help Mum or Dad with cooking dinner for at least two  nights this week, write down what you have cooked and what the ingredients you used were.

  • Record what you eat for breakfast every day and for lunch as well.

  • Go onto Studyladder and find some basic facts to practice.

 

 

Week 8

  • Read for ten minutes every night- go to the Public Library and choose some books that your whole family can share

  • Maths- using subtraction and addition equations, show as many different ways of making 20, 18, and 16 as you can..

  • Use these words in sentences: thrown, throne, bored, board, sent, cent.

  • Please remember to hand your homework books in at the end of the week, even if you haven't managed to do all the homework on the Blog..

  • Get your Mum or Dad to read to you each night

  • Read for ten minutes every night - get your parents to read to you as well as you reading to them. Try to go to the Public Library at least one day after school this week.

  • Spend ten minutes on Studyladder each night doing maths activities

  • Write the opposites for these words: up, first, tall, dirty, rich, small,

  • Use these words in sentences: allowed. aloud, peace, piece.

 

 

Week 4 Homework:

  • Read for ten minutes each night.

  • Write these words out five times and use them in sentences: poor, pour, hour our rows, rose, their there.

  • Write as many addition and subtraction equations that equal 11, 12, 15

 

 

Week 3 Homework:

  • Reading for ten minutes every night - ask your parents if you can go to the Public Library and get some books that you can share.

  • Spelling - write these words out 5 times and use each one in a sentence- there, their, right, write, buy by.

  • Maths - write the doubles for all the numbers up to 12, e.g. 1+1=...., then go onto Tutpup and do some basic facts equations..

 

 

Week 2 homework.

  • Reading for ten minutes each night, record what you read and write one sentence about whatever you read - get your Mum or Dad to read to you as well.

  • Spend five minutes on Studyladder- see if you can find some multiplication problems that you can solve.

  • Use these words in sentences: after, meet, meat, ear, air, made maid

  • Remember to read for ten minutes each night

  • Spend ten minutes on Studyladder doing Maths activities each night

  • Write out these words five times and then use them in sentences: like, look, where, were, down, because, said, after.

 

 

Week 10 Homework

  • This week Mrs Tootill wants you to just read and read and read and read for homework, go to the Public Library and get some books that you can share with all the family, get your Mums and Dads to read to you lots and lots

 

 

Week 9 homework

  • Read for ten minutes every night.

  • Write out these words three times each, and then use each one in a sentence to show what it means: one, won, some, meet, meat, made, maid

  • Spend ten minutes each night doing maths activities on Studyladder

  • Find out what two Stations Of the Cross are and what they mean.

 

 

Week 8 Homework

  • Read for ten minutes each night and record what you have read in your homework book.

  • Find out five facts about what the Pope does - where does he live, what sorts of things does he do, who helps him, why has our new Pope chosen Francis as his name?

  • Do at least three Study ladder activities over the week- go onto the Maths activities

  • Go to the Public Library and choose some great books for your family to read togther..

 

Week 7 Homework

Read for ten minutes every night - if you don't get a chance to record what you are reading, it doesn't matter, the most important thing is reading - ask your Mum or Dad to read to you as well.

Log onto Studyladder using the username and password that I have given you this morning - there should be some set task to do in the Maths section.

Practise spelling these words - and then use them in sentences: because, came down, were, where, with

Bring your togs on Tuesday and Wednesday and we will swim at 10.00 a.m.

 

Week 6 Homework

Read for ten minutes every night and record what you are reading in your homework book.

Maths- write down as many ways of making 20 as you can - they can be adding or takeaway.
Write out the numbers up to 20

Think about your Lenten promises and what you are doing to keep them - write down all the ways you are helping your Mum and Dad with things around the house and what you are doing for your brothers and sisters at home. Write down a prayer that will help you keep your promise.

Week 5 Homework

Read with your Mum and Dad for ten minutes each night and write into your homework book what you have read and what the story is about - two or three sentences is enough. Go to the Public Library and find some books that you would like to share with your family...

 

Write the doubles for all the numbers up to 20 - for example 1+1, 2+2.

 

Make a list of the dinners that you have each night, say what you like and what you don't like, you can also make a list of your favourite foods and why you like them.

 

 

 

Read for ten minutes each night with your Mum or Dad, record in your Homework book what you have read, and one sentence about what happened in that book.

Write down as many facts that add up to 15, and 16-  for example- 14+1, 13+2


Have a look at a newspaper or the TV news and on two days this week, write down something that has happened in New Zealand on that day.
