Next week your homework will be under the Homework Tab on our Blog- Mrs Tootill has learnt how to put it there!!
You need to remember to bring Gala items each day - you can check on the school website for what you need to bring.
We are learning about Jesus in  R.E, and we are thinking about how the Last Supper relates to the Eucharist that we celebrate each Sunday at Mass.
Remember to tell your parents each day what you have learnt - we will think about that at the end of each day before we go home..
We will have Kick-it again on Wednesday - please remember to bring your P.E. gear, and also remember to bring a large bottle of water each day and your hat, while it is still so hot, you need lots of protection from the sun.

Friday morning working hard

These people are working really hard on their R.E lesson - we have been talking about Jesus and the Last Supper, and why the Last Supper is related to the Eucharist that we celebrate every Sunday at Mass.

Welcome to Room 8 2013

Welcome to St Mary’s and Room 8 for 2013.
This term our concept is Communities, and we will be focussing on how humans and other groups (insects, animals) work together and depend on each other. The Concept is integrated throughout many other curriculum areas.
Our Religious Education Programme will be integrated throughout our daily programme; we will be working to maintain the Catholic Character of our school.
This year we are going to do most of our communication with you via our class blog Our blog address is: room8stmarysrotorua.blogspot.com  I will be putting something on each week to keep you up to date with what has been happening and what will be happening in the following week. I will be putting the homework onto the Blog each week. The children will be expected to do their homework into their homework book, and bring that back to me on Fridays so I can mark it. There will also be photos and samples of the children’s work.
We will have swimming this term and children are expected to participate, as swimming is part of the Physical Education programme. Please ensure that your child brings their togs every day in the ‘even weeks’, e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.
All children will need to have their sunhats while they are playing outside during the first term.
I look forward to meeting you at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ evenings on Wednesday 13, or Thursday 14 February.

Yours sincerely,
Heather Tootill
